I still can’t get over Abby & Christian’s engagement session in downtown Chicago. The perfect mix of old Chicago vibes with some of the iconic parts of Chicago that we know in love, it’s easy to say, I will forever be sharing these images. I’ve known these two for quite a while as we met in college & I’ve photographed them a few times already, even Christian’s proposal to Abby! Being able to document their story throughout all of these stages of their lives together has been such a blast & I’m so looking forward to their wedding next May.
Sunrise at North Avenue Beach
Our session began at Chicago’s North Avenue Beach for sunrise & we could not have asked for a more perfect start. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, & with it being as early as it was we had the beach more or less all to ourselves while we were there. We took our time in the morning roaming around the beach before we decided to make an outfit change and head into downtown Chicago for the rest of their engagement session.
Engagement Session in Downtown Chicago
After a quick wardrobe change, we headed into the city for the next leg of Abby & Christian’s session. These two wanted their session to feel classy, modern, & timeless to reflect the feel they are going for with their wedding, & there is no question, Chicago is the perfect setting for them. We made a quick pit stop at Starbucks for some coffee before we hit the streets. These two were dressed to the nines & really went all out for that classy & modern look which I LOVED. We fit a good variety of downtown Chicago into their engagement session. We wanted to document the over all feel of the city that they love, while also sprinkling in some of Chicagos’ charm. Everything from larger landmarks like the Chicago Theater & The Palmer House to smaller things like Red Line stops on the sidewalk & busy intersections.
Heading Home
After we had the photos we wanted in downtown Chicago it was time to head back home to their apartment for one more wardrobe change for the last leg of their engagement session. To finish their session Abby & Christian hopped back into their summery outfits they wore at North Avenue beach & brought out their two pups for some photos. Seeing these two & the life they’ve created together & being able to capture their growth has been such a treat & something I’m so glad to have been a part of!
Abby Christian & I always have so much fun on our sessions together, & their engagement session in downtown Chicago was no exception! Their day was such a blast & so perfect to them & I cannot wait until we get to celebrate their wedding in May!
