I love Indiana for a lot of reasons but one of my favorites is the amount of amazing intimate wedding venues that the state offers! No matter the vibe that you’re going for, whether it’s classy and historic, a fun outdoor setting, or a modern styled speakeasy Indiana has a bit of everything. With all these great options I thought it would be helpful to list out my 5 favorite locations for an intimate wedding in Indiana as well as some other options to look into.

My Top 5 Venues

Laurel Hall

Built in 1916 Laurel Hall is an incredibly beautiful and classy intimate wedding venue in the heart of Indiana. Laurel hall has a gorgeous indoor ceremony space perfect for your intimate wedding. That combined with the dark wood interiors, beautiful grounds outside the building and its white brick exterior all make for some amazing photo opportunities and a beautiful setting for your wedding. If you’re looking for a venue with a lot of class and rich in history near Indianapolis this is it!

Ricks Boatyard Cafe

This is such a great option for an intimate wedding in Indiana where you want a bit of the outdoors but not too much. Located right on the water of the Eagle Creek Reservoir Rick’s Boatyard Cafe is the perfect mixture of fun and class. With plenty of outdoor space for your ceremony and a reception space looking out over the water, you get quite a bit of variety! Pricing varies depending on group size and the amount of food and drinks you need so be sure to plan accordingly based on your guests!

The Cake Bake Shop in Carmel

The Cake Bake Shop has such a fun and whimsical atmosphere to it that I just love. It seriously feels like something out of a movie, especially when the venue is fully decked out in all the floral arrangements of your wedding. The Cake Bake Shop manages to maintain its fun atmosphere while still being a classy and romantic location for your intimate wedding in Indiana and I cannot recommend it enough!

Indiana State House

Indiana’s State House can be reserved for private weddings and is an incredibly grand venue option for your intimate wedding. The State House’s tall ceilings, marble pillars, and ornate decorations give it such an epic and historic feel. You’ll need a separate reception space if you plan to have one, but for a ceremony space, there is a lot to love at the State House.

The Hobson Kokomo

For a more modern speakeasy feel for your intimate wedding day The Hobson Kokomo is the perfect option in Indiana. This incredibly classy venue has a lot of history to it but has been revitalized with a modern touch that only enhances the class. Booking the Hobson for a private event costs $5500 for 10 hours on Saturdays and $5000 every other day of the week. I love the look and feel of the Hobson, and if a more modern feel is your style you should definitely look into it!

Alternative Venue Options

Backyard

If you, your family or your friends have a home in Indiana with a backyard suited for an intimate wedding it can be a great option! With a backyard wedding there can be more planning when it comes to things like seating, food and the overall layout of the day. In turn though you have FULL control over all aspects of your wedding meaning you really get to make it feel like you. I love when my couples make their weddings personal to them and a backyard wedding is a great way to do that.

Your Favorite Restaurant

Speaking of making your wedding personal to you, if you have a favorite restaurant that hosts events why not have your wedding there! You likely already have some great memories there so adding your wedding to the list is only going to make you love the spot even more. It also makes the wedding itself so personal to you. If you have a fav restaurant in Indiana check on their website or give them a call and see if they accommodate intimate weddings.
