Elopement Portraits at the Indiana Statehouse | Brittney & Connor

FILED IN: Elopement

I’ve said it many times before how one of the best things about elopements is just how much freedom they allow the couple. Brittney & Connor’s day is further proof of this. The only photos they wanted from their elopement were the portrait photos inside the Indiana Statehouse, the rest of the day they wanted to just be present & enjoy the moment with their close family. It was THE perfect day for them, & I cannot wait to share it with you here today!

“Shelby is simply the BEST! We had a small elopement and wanted to have a quick photo sesh before our ceremony and Shelby made it happen! ✨ Every attention to detail leading up to the day and during our time together was amazing. Between the multiple emails and offers of support at every turn, we felt like this process was worth every penny! Definitely would recommend Shelby in every regard!” -Brittney & Connor

Elopement Portraits at the Indiana Statehouse

Knowing they only wanted portrait photos for their elopement, Brittney & Connor chose the Indiana Statehouse as their venue since it’s close to family & absolutely stunning inside. As I mentioned in my venue feature about the Indiana Statehouse, for small gatherings such as Brittney & Connor’s elopement portraits with their family we were able to use the space during their open hours. This kept things incredibly simple for Brittney & Connor while also allowing them to use a space as gorgeous as the statehouse as a backdrop. We took our time with their newlywed portraits, enjoying the beautiful backdrops of the interior & exterior of the statehouse.

Family Portraits & a Night of Celebration

Once we had newlywed portraits & some solo portraits it was time for a few family portraits in the main atrium of the statehouse. They knew that they wanted a ton of photos from the day to look back on for years to come, so having their loved ones be part of these photos was a must. Following the portrait photos was a short, sweet, & intimate ceremony put together by Marry Me Indy, & finally a dinner with their families to celebrate. I’m so glad to have taken their portraits in the Indiana Statehouse, & even happier that Brittney & Connor could experience their elopement day how THEY wanted to!

Brittney & Connor kept their elopement day completely true to them, & for that I love these two SO much. Their elopement portraits inside the Indiana Statehouse were such a treat to document, & seeing these two light up with joy as they entered this next chapter of life together was the icing on the cake.
