Top 10 Restaurants For Your Indianapolis Elopement

If you haven’t already heard, Indianapolis has quite the food scene. The options and cuisines are endless when it comes to choosing the best place for you and what you’re craving. Especially when it comes to deciding on where to eat after your elopement. Whether it’s just the two of you or a few close family and friends, Indianapolis has plenty of choices to choose from. So today I’ll share my top ten restaurants for your Indianapolis elopement with varying cuisines and budgets.

Top 10 Private Dining Restaurants For Your Indianapolis Elopement

If you’re looking for restaurants whether it’s just the two of you or with family and friends, there are several that I suggest in the downtown area that provide that upscale and private feeling.

1. St. Elmo- 127 S Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46225 ($75-100/person)

You can’t think of Indy and not think of St. Elmo and their famous shrimp cocktail sauce. From their steak to seafood options, every guest will find something suited for them. From their one of a kind service (with some servers working there 40+ years), speakeasy feel, and being in the heart of downtown, St. Elmo wouldn’t disappoint.

They have private rooms available from 12-70 guests and is the perfect spot if you’re looking for a quiet dinner or a larger celebration post-elopement.

2. Commission Row110 S Delaware St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 ($75-100/person)

Another amazing steakhouse located right next to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Commission Row also has a showstopper of a menu and also offers custom menus and action stations for private parties.

Their speakeasy, Mel’s, is located below the main restaurant and can also be rented out for receptions. E and L hosted their June reception at Mel’s after having their ceremony at the Statehouse earlier in the day.

3. Harry & Izzy’s– 153 S Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46225 ($50-100/person)

Allllll the steakhouses coming in first because, yes, they are that good. With two Indianapolis locations, Harry and Izzy’s could be the spot for you if you’re wanting to stay downtown or make your way up to the North Keystone area. They also have fabulous cocktail sauce and is a sister company of St. Elmo. I may be slightly biased because we had our own elopement reception at Harry and Izzy’s (twice!!!) and can not say enough good things about the room, staff, and food! The shrimp cocktail and steak sliders are our go to.

4. Rosemary and Olive– 870 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204 ($30-40/person)

Located on Mass Ave, Rosemary and Olive is right where all the fun happens in Indy. It’s also right next to Bottleworks Hotel for a quick getaway back to your room or as a quick touch up prior to dinner! They can host up to 50 guests at their restaurant and have some of the best homemade Italian in downtown Indy!

5. Salt– 505 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204 ($50-100/person)

With a semi private dining option, Salt on Mass will be just the place for you if you’re craving seafood for your Indianapolis elopement!

6. Hyde Park– 51 N Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 ($75-100+/person)

Surprise surprise, another steakhouse option! When I say literally, I mean LITERALLY just a block away from the Statehouse, Hyde Park is the perfect place if you’re eloping at the Statehouse and staying at a nearby hotel. Everything is within blocks of one another and makes your timeline much more simple with logistics! They have both private and semi private options and can hold up to 270 guests!

7. Bodhi– 922 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202 ($20-60/person)

Craving Thai food? Then Bodhi is the place for you! Located on Mass Ave, their restaurant may be small but packs a lot of flavor into their food. While they don’t offer a private room due to the size, they do offer a full buy out option!

8. Skyline Club– OneAmerica Tower, 200 N Illinois St 36th Floor, Indianapolis, IN 46282 (inquire for pricing)

One of the best spots in Indy to have a skyline view of the city is the Skyline Club. Also located just a block away from the Indianapolis Statehouse, the Skyline Club offers a private space for your elopement or intimate wedding reception! Their American cuisine is INCREDIBLE and their team is one of a kind based on my experience from C & J’s elopement reception.

9. The Fountain Room– 830 Massachusetts Ave Ste 1480, Indianapolis, IN 46204 ($50-100/person)

If you’re looking for an art deco vibe in the heart of downtown, this modern American supper club located on Mass Ave and the Bottleworks district would be the perfect spot! Known for their fantastic bar and service, the Fountain Room is the perfect spot if you’re looking for a place for just the two of you or 20-160 family and friends.

10. Bluebeard– 653 Virginia Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203 ($20-70/person)

Located in a renovated 1924 warehouse and in the Fountain Square area, Bluebeard offers modern American fare with a farm to table menu! They use local ingredients and also offer an in house florist for your event! Choose from their reception room, second story apartment space or private patio for your reception!

These are just a few of the restaurants I would recommend for your Indianapolis elopement reception if you’re still trying to decide on a location! You really can’t go wrong with any of them!

Some bonus restaurants if you’re wanting to travel outside of downtown Indianapolis include Maialina, Cooper’s Hawk, Noah Grants, Anthony’s Chophouse, Fox Gardin, and Monterey Cuisine.
